Dharmendra Slams Javed Akhtar For His Sharp Remarks On Casting Amitabh Bachchan In 1973’s Bollywood Classic ‘Zanjeer’-TWEET INSIDE!
Veteran actor Javed Akhtar recently claimed that Amitabh Bachchan was cast as lead actor in the 1973 Hindi movie 'Zanjeer' after several actors including Dharmendra Deol refused to play the part.

This ultimately stirred up discussions across several forums. Well, Akhtar’s remarks did not seem to do well with a few actors and netizens. Now, Dharmendra has reacted to Javed Akhtar’s comments and maintained that it would be great if the lyricist-writer had learned to lie better.

Dharmendra’s response comes after Akhtar claimed that everyone inducing the former declined the role in Zanjeer as they were supposed to act serious and bitter person overall throughout the movie, which had no romance or elements of comedy, reported Hindustan Times.

In response to the writer’s comments, Dharmendra said, that it was an ’emotional’ hurdle to reject the film in the first place.

"Javed, kaise ho……. dikhave ki iss duniya mein haqeeqaten dabi rah jaati hain. Jeetey raho….. Dilon ko gudgudana khoob aata hai….. kaash sar chad ke bolne ka jaadu bhi sekh liya hota….. (How are you doing Javed. Reality often remains unheard in this world full of show-offs. I know how to make people laugh… wish I could learn the art of speaking my mind)," the 86-year-old actor wrote in response to Javed Akhtar's tweet.

Dharmendra hinted that Bollywood's popular lyricist Javed Akhtar has lied about the facts and he must learn how to lie better. With that being said, this isn’t the first time Javed Akhtar has made stirring remarks.

Previously, Javed had caused an uproar for allegedly asking Kangana Ranaut to apologize to Hrithik Roshan, who had then sued the actress for her “silly ex” remarks. The lyricist and writer had even filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut claiming her comments to be ‘baseless’. The controversy brewed following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
